Teresa told me this story: The Peavler ladies were on an outing in the car, having a conversation. Ariah was in the back seat with her aunt Heather, and, presenting two figurines, she said to her, “Do you want to play with me?” Heather said, “No, I just want to talk right now.” Ariah replied, “Okay, I’ll just tell a story. But I can’t tell it all by myself, so you need to help me. And it will help us tell the story if we use these.” She then stuffed one of the figurines into Heather’s hand. Though Heather still declined, I’m impressed by my three-year-old daughter’s ingenuity.
